The Refrigeration School, Inc. and ARIZONA@WORK Introduce
Apartment Maintenance Pathway Program to Fill Skilled Trades Gap in Arizona
Program officially launches with ribbon cutting ceremony Jan. 8
WHAT: The Refrigeration School, Inc. (RSI) is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Jan. 8 to officially introduce its Apartment Maintenance Pathway program in partnership with ARIZONA@WORK. The program is designed to help address the skilled trades demand throughout the state by providing more opportunities for individuals to get hired into entry-level apartment-maintenance positions.
The Apartment Maintenance Pathway program uses curriculum developed by the National Apartment Association (NAA) that focuses on maintenance and repair of interiors and exteriors, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and appliances. According to the NAA, the demand for jobs to provide grounds and property maintenance is expected to grow by 13% in Arizona, making the Apartment Maintenance Pathway program a key initiative for new careers in the skilled trades.
The first cohort will start at RSI on in January will include up to 15 students. Those interested in applying for the program must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma. Accepted applicants will receive the six-week training course from RSI, which includes a Certificate of Completion, Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician Certificate from CAMT, additional paid on-the-job training by an NAA employer partner for up to eight weeks, competitive entry-level salary and full benefits.
