August 29, 2011 – The Refrigeration School, Inc. (RSI) has been awarded the 2010-2011 Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) School of Distinction Award. According to ACCSC’s website, “the School of Distinction Award recognizes member schools that have demonstrated a commitment to the expectations and rigors of ACCSC accreditation, as well as a commitment to delivering quality educational programs to the students, graduates, and employers that deserve our best work. Through this award, it is the Commission’s intent to recognize the importance of this significant achievement, including completing the accreditation process without stipulation and having been timely in the submission of the fees and reports required of an ACCSC accredited institution.”* ACCSC is a nationally recognized independent accrediting agency with over 800 accredited educational institutions nationwide, devoted to private, post-secondary institutions.
Having received the same award in 2006 during their last accrediting cycle, RSI has continued to maintain a high standard for excellence in education and institutional practices. When asked about RSI’s ability to maintain their high standards, Sherry Jones, Executive Director comments, “RSI is an institution that focuses on the students and staff alike. The Refrigeration School, Inc was founded in Phoenix Arizona in 1965 and the campus consists of two buildings with 21,000 square feet of classroom, lab, and support service facilities. RSI is an accredited school by ACCSC, licensed by the Arizona State Board of Private Post Secondary Education, and is a member of Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), and Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES).
