The Tulsa Welding Schools (TWS) located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jacksonville, Florida, held their annual High School Senior Welding Competitions in February. An estimated 1,800 people were in attendance at both campuses combined. Participating students had the opportunity to compete for over $250,000 in scholarships and prizes. All 430 competitors, regardless of placement, were awarded a $500 scholarship to use towards tuition at TWS. Additional scholarships and prizes were given to the top 35 winners. Aside from the actual competition, attendees and their families had the opportunity to tour the TWS campuses, speak to Admissions Representatives, and attend demonstrations by TWS faculty and welding industry experts.
TWS had many vendors participate in the welding competition and offer donations for the top 35 prize winners. Vendors set up tables, displays, and some had hands-on demonstrations at the event. Each vendor donated scholarships and prizes for the winners. The top winners are as follows:

The competition itself requires participants to complete a timed arc welding test using various positions and techniques. Contestants are graded on adherence to procedure, the quality of the weld, and final completion time.
