May 14, 2012 –Tulsa Welding School is proud to announce a new Pipefitting training program to fill the nationwide need for more skilled workers. Classes for the new Pipefitting program at the Tulsa, Oklahoma campus located at 2545 E. 11th Street are set to begin May 29th.
David Gilliam, Director of Education at Tulsa Welding School says about the projection, “According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook from the US Department of Labor, the employment of plumbers, pipefitters and steamfitters is projected to grow 26% from 2010 to 2020, faster than average for all occupations. As such, job opportunities are expected to be good as some employers continue to report difficulty finding qualified professionals. In addition, many workers are expected to retire over the next 10 years, which will result in more job openings.”
The new Pipefitting training program takes 6½ months to complete and prepares students to pursue opportunities as pipefitters, pipe layers, plumbers, boilermakers and steamfitters. Tulsa Welding School’s hands-on pipefitting training also includes courses in blueprint reading, math, safety and plumbing codes and standards.
